We don’t really support women’s rights in the West, we have emphasized in culture for women to want political power and material security for themselves or they are ostracized as weak and unproductive. Women’s rights are not primarily personal political power to go along with influential political groups. Playing the games of business and politics discourages love and submission. Love and submission can be wonderful sources of bonds in relationships and in no way diminishes a woman’s importance, praise, or success. Women can have the right to sacrifice political and material power for the greater power of being beloved, supported, and enabled to do the most important work of civilization which is loving service to others, which we should all aspire to as our right more than political power for personal gain.

1- When you want to know about islam read quran and hadith (the speech of the prophet)not Ibn Katheer and Al Tabari. If you are not able to read quran in arabic, at least read a good translation like Sahih International or Muhsin Khan translations. Because, the translation you brought is terrible and completely misleading. Also, you have to know that what is written in brackets is the understanding of the translator and not the translation word by word. The verses you brought doesn’t have the name Adam nor Eve … also, your translation says person instead of soul (نفس), wife instead of mate(زوج), created from him instead of created from her (the soul)her mate (خلق منها زوجها) because the word soul in arabic is feminine regardless it is a female or male. So we understand that there is a soul and this same soul was created from it a person and its mate.
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
2- The hadith you mentioned says woman, not Eve, and never mentioned Adam. So we understand that this a metaphor that means women have the same features of a rib this means that it is curved and you men are not pleased with this curve but this curve is essential for the job of a rib which is protecting the vital organs like women protect the whole family and if you tried to straighten this rib it will not be able to function so leave women as they are without trying to straighten them and if you tried they will be broken ( divorced)
There are similar metaphors used in quran that mankind is created from weekness and mankind is created from haste (check quran 6:54 and 21:37
3- no islamic scripture (quran and hadith) says clearly that Eve is created from Adam
4- Muslim scholars had different understanding of this verse and the hadith you mentioned . Some scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al Tabari had the opinion you mentioned . Their opinion is affected by what is written in the bible because they use the bible as a book of history that is “probably” not “certainly” correct. Other muslim scholars had the other opinion, but you always view from one eye. Also, it is mentioned in quran 2:35 And We said, “O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.”
So this proves in my opinion that the story mentioned in the bible is incorrect because Adam and Eve went to Jannah with each other not the story that Adam was in Jannah and he felt lonely…
