Dr. Brown, Sin is defined as transgression of the law (like breaking the law). Therefore, repenting of your sins is keeping the law. Keeping the law is defined as works of the law. (The 10 Commandments is the Moral Law.)
The Bible warns us that salvation is for he who worketh NOT, that by NO WORKS of the law shall any flesh be justified (justified in the Bible lexicon is defined as “proclaimed sinless, innocent, blameless before God”). So, to be saved, believe on (trust) the Lord Jesus Christ and HIS finished work on the cross, death, burial & physical resurrection. To serve the Lord, turn from your sins. Our works of righteousness are like filthy rags. We have nothing to offer Him. Salvation is a FREE GIFT received by trust. In 1 Timothy we, as saved believers, are beseeched (asked/begged) to present our bodies holy (separate from the world), as living sacrifices (to fight the urge to sin) which is our REASONABLE SERVICE to the Lord. We serve Him this way. It’s also how we show our love (“If you LOVE Me keep My commandments.”). Discipleship is not about being saved, it’s about being a student. We all spiritually mature at different rates… & some stay immature. We must trust Christ to be saved once & forever.
I love how Isaiah 53 was and still is quoted from the Ethiopian eunuch and Phillip as they were preparing a baptism.

Michael Brown is a Karait, denies the Torah Shebaal Peh… He is a heretic. What mystifies me is that David Wood does not know there is a Christian statement of beliefs and never asked Michael Brown if he accepted those beliefs. Instead David interjects some other baloney as a statement of beliefs. So I must presume that David Wood must himself belong to a heretical cult.

Do you believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages, G-d from G-d, Light from Light, true G-d from true G-d, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made., and who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man and who for our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures and who ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father and who will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end?
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets?
Do you believe in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church?
Do you believe one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come?
But these are not the five questions David Wood asks which means he might not be a Christian? Anyone know?

The ‘God is not a man’ argument is very easy to refute. The same Tanakh that says ‘God/Elohim is not a man that he should lie’ in Numbers 23:19, also says in Exodus 15:3, ‘The LORD (יהוה) is a man of war, The LORD (יהוה) is His name’. It’s the same Hebrew word for man in both cases. So, what do we have then. God/Elohim is not a man but Yahovah/Yahweh is? So, by their own logic, they have just acknowledged two members of the Godhead/Trinity.
MAN, we need Dr Brown here again!
There are three things which effects how we see things: the opinions of others who we are close to, the food we eat and the ideas we constantly engage in and feast upon. If Christians handled these three things and get rid of falsehood in all those areas, we’d all be better able, and physically stronger to meet the challenges we have in life.
This interview was feasting in all three as I sat and nibbled on a healthy snack while listening.
