One of the standard “peaceful verses” of the Quran is Surah 2:256 (“There is no compulsion in religion”). According to the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, however, this verse was abrogated by later commands to fight unbelievers in the name of Allah.

David, I do NOT even accept that 2.256 is a peaceful verse in any way. When read in its entirety it is just a claim that the truth of Islam is plainly clear and superior to all else and that therefore one is at fault for denying Islam and so worthy of punishment. It is only really claiming there is no compulsion BECAUSE the ‘‘truth’’ is clear just like the fact that 2 + 2 = 4 and if one denies it one is a foolish rascal, a disbeliever, etc. This verse is hardly some egalitarian call for tolerance! Do you disagree?

The peace verse is applicable even to this day that is why the apostasy laws are lifted by Muslim States cz the previous generation have gotten everything wrong.

These are TWO completely different Surah whose History and Context is completely different :ok_woman:t5:

Surah Al Baqarah verse 252 ALLAH IS ADDRESSING ALL THE MUSLIMS AND INFORMING THEM NOT TO COMPEL PEOPLE INTO RELIGION. THE TRUTH STANDS OUT CLEAR FROM FALSEHOOD. That is why people can apostasise at any day but nothing will be done to them.

SURAH 48:16 IS ALLAH IS ADDRESSING A GROUP OF ARABS WHO RAN AWAY FROM A PREVIOUS BATTLE BECAUSE THEY HAD FEAR IN THEIR HEARTS.

IN VERSE 16 ALLAH IS TOLD THESE ARABS THAT THEY WILL BE CALLED(CHALLENGED) TO FIGHT THE ROMANS WHO ARE MIGHTY IN ARMY. SO ALLAH SAID TO THESE ARABS THEY MUST FIGHT THE ROMANS UNLESS IF THE ROMANS SUBMIT.

AND ALLAH CONTINUES TO SAY TO THOSE ARABS IF THEY OBEYED ALLAH AND NOT RAN AWAY FROM THE ROMAN CHALLENGE ALLAH WILL REWARD THEM, BUT IF THEY TURN AWAY LIKE THEY DID BEFORE ALLAH WILL PUNISH THEM WITH A SEVERE PUNISHMENT.

So this verse has nothing to do with Terrorism of Today.

It has nothing to do with violence of Muslims towards other people today.

This verse was revealed for a Historical Purpose which was relevant and specific to the Arabs who lived at the time of Prophet Muhammad who ran away from a previous War.

This verse should never be taken independently from its historical context.

But David this is what you do in you videos. You always quote the verses of ALLAH out of context and you never give a historical background of each and every Quranic verse you rape.

That approach is wrong and misleading.

If you have problems with Islam at least attack it in True Context and always give the True History of each verse.

Don’t just quote the verses of ALLAH and injustify them to support your FALSE TERRORISM AGAENDA.

CONTINUE TO DO SO AND WATCH HOW WE REVERSE ALL YOUR LIES WITH THE TRUTH.
