Wow, it’s impressive that not only did slavery apparently continue to be a thing up until 2019, but it also managed to exist in the United States of America over 150 years before the United States was a thing. I was under the impression that it existed throughout the world since pre-history, and came to an end in the independent nation of the United States in less than the span of a singe century. But what do I know? I just study history.
