According to Surah 4, Verse 34 of the Qur’an, Muslim men can beat their rebellious wives into submission. Indeed, men who simply FEAR rebellion from their wives can beat their wives. The verse reads:

Qur’an 4:34—Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.

Is it any surprise that spousal abuse is so common in Muslim majority countries?

"Men shall carefully protect and maintain women because Allah has granted each (party) some superior characteristics over the other (party), and because they (men) spend out of their possessions (to maintain their families). Thus righteous women are obedient (to Allah) and guard themselves in the absence of witnesses in return for Allah’s protection. As for women whose nushooz/leaving you fear, give them advice/say kind words to them, and leave them alone in the bed, and darb them/let them dwell (there). Then if they willingly obey/listen to you, do not seek another way against them. Allah is Exalted, Great.” (an-Nisā 4:34)”

“(O believers!) If you fear a split between the spouses, send an arbitrator from his family and an arbitrator from her family. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them. Allah is all-knowing and He is all-aware about the true nature of everything.” (An-Nisā 4:35)

Your guys are talking about how Islam views women.
Could you guys explain me verse 25-30 of chapter 22 Deuteronomy in the bible with context, especially the last verses. I also want an exegeses from christian scholars. I have given the whole chapter with his full context. I also accept sources from the internet. Thank you!!!

22 If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to its owner. 2 If they do not live near you or if you do not know who owns it, take it home with you and keep it until they come looking for it. Then give it back. 3 Do the same if you find their donkey or cloak or anything else they have lost. Do not ignore it.

4 If you see your fellow Israelite’s donkey or ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it. Help the owner get it to its feet.

5 A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.

6 If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. 7 You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life.

8 When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof.

9 Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled.[a]

10 Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together.

11 Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.

12 Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear.

Marriage Violations

13 If a man takes a wife and, after sleeping with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,” 15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring to the town elders at the gate proof that she was a virgin. 16 Her father will say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity.” Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, 18 and the elders shall take the man and punish him. 19 They shall fine him a hundred shekels[b] of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives.

20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

22 If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.

23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

25 But if out in the country a man happens to meet a young woman pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. 26 Do nothing to the woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders a neighbor, 27 for the man found the young woman out in the country, and though the betrothed woman screamed, there was no one to rescue her.

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels[c] of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

30 A man is not to marry his father’s wife; he must not dishonor his father’s bed.[d]

Majah book 9, hadith 1851: Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas said: “My father told me that he was present at the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah. He praised and glorified Allah, and reminded and exhorted (the people). Then he said: ‘I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise, unless they commit clear indecency. If they do that, then forsake them in their beds and hit them, but without causing injury or leaving a mark. If they obey you, then do not seek means of annoyance against them. You have rights over your women and your women have rights over you. Your rights over your women are that they are not to allow anyone whom you dislike to tread on your bedding (furniture), nor allow anyone whom you dislike to enter your houses. And their right over you are that you should treat them kindly with regard to their clothing and food.’

Sahih al- BUkhari , book 73 hadith 68: The Prophet forbade laughing at a person who passes wind, and said, “How does anyone of you beat his wife as he beats the stallion camel and then he may embrace (sleep with) her?” And Hisham said, “As he beats his slave”.

Sahh Thirmidhi 1163: Sulaiman bin Amr bin Al-Ahwas said:

“My father narrated to me that he witnessed the farewell Hajj with the Messenger of Allah. So he thanked and praised Allah and he reminded and gave admonition. He mentioned a story in his narration and he (the Prophet) said: “And indeed I order you to be good to the women, for they are but captives with you over whom you have no power than that, except if they come with manifest Fahishah (evil behavior). If they do that, then abandon their beds and beat them with a beating that is not harmful. And if they obey you then you have no cause against them. Indeed you have rights over your women, and your women have rights over you. As for your rights over your women, then they must not allow anyone whom you dislike to treat on your bedding (furniture), nor to admit anyone in your home that you dislike. And their rights over you are that you treat them well in clothing them and feeding them.”

Abu Dawud 2146: yas ibn Abdullah ibn Abu Dhubab reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Do not beat Allah’s handmaidens, but when Umar came to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said: Women have become emboldened towards their husbands, he (the Prophet) gave permission to beat them. Then many women came round the family of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم complaining against their husbands. So the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Many women have gone round Muhammad’s family complaining against their husbands. They are not the best among you.

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, never struck anything with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, unless he was fighting in the way of Allah.

Read the Arabic quran and try to translate and understand its meaning… Than u will know the reality… The Quran says to give respect to women… Treat them well… The quran which are translated by some people in English… Were translated wrong… To misguide people… Try to translate the Arabic quran in English by an authentic source or person…!!

You don’t actually know much about the Quran, or Islam. It is typical of the Christian debauchery that caused me to leave Christianity. In the interpretation most Muslims interpret that to mean to give her a touch or a sharp look.

It is similar to the way that I Cor 11 says that women’s head should be covered when praying. Few to no Christian women ever cover their hair, at all.

MISINTERPRETATION OF THE VERSE. QURAN SAYS IN THIS VERSE THAT A HUSBAND IS GRADED ONE LEVEL UP UPON HIS WIFE WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF HER BY ALL MEANS OF LIVING. SO THIS IS A JOB RATHER THAN UPGRADATION WHICH IF HE DOESNOT FULFIL THEN WIFE HAS THE RIGHT TO GET HELP THROUGH LAW.
WE HAVE OPPOSITE NORMS OF CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS VALUES THAN WEST. E.G, ISLAM NEVER PUTS BURDEN ON A WOMAN TO GIVE BIRTH TO A CHILD BEING A SINGLE MOTHER. WHATS THE %AGE OF SINGLE MOTHERS IN WEST, NO MATTER WHAT MAY THE REASON BE BEHIND.

I listen to Annie Cyrus on the Glazov Gang and she tells of how she escaped the beatings of her husband and talks about her UNTREATED BROKEN BONES and how you can feel through the surface of her forearms the now healed breaks. As they were not set, the bones healed not end to end but possibly overlapped one another which happens in compound breaks in which both bones above the wrist are broken clean the the muscles pull the bones into an overlap position. I know because I broke my arm as a child and it was such a break like this, but I was roller skating instead of married to a Muslim. However I had surgery to repair the break, she got none.

I have heard teaching that the Muslim man can get in trouble if he causes a broken bone, yet there are instances also of horrific beatings in which a lady news caster was beaten till you could not even recognize her. I do not know if bones where broken, bu it was indeed, horrific.

How different is the teaching of Jesus who teaches men to love their wives as Paul states, and that they give themselves for their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself to sanctified His bride, the church. If violence is preferable to peace, if bludgeoning a woman is better than how Christ Jesus treated women, then indeed Muhammad came to correct the teaching of Jesus. Except there is no improvement in the human condition under Islam, only poverty for most and illiteracy. If Muhammad was a “mercy for mankind” it is only a handful of wealth Arabs, not made rich by jihad but by oil.

Muhammad, if he is in the Bible, serves as a bad example, even an anti-Christ figure who believed neither that God is a father and neither that Jesus is His Son.

I have a copy of the Koran first published in 1956 by Penguin Classics. It says:
[Koran 4 : 34] …admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.

With the “and” instead of “or”, it looks like the Koran instructs men to do all three. And it says “beat them” with no extra details given for how close to death the beating may go.
